For parents

The European Youth Parliament is a non-formal educational project, organised in a fun and safe environment

At our events, your teenagers will develop countless soft skills and learn about Europe when debating current European issues. They learn to work together in creative problem solving and they learn to appreciate others’ opinions, all the while becoming more active citizens. At our events, we focus on intercultural exchange. Teambuilding is an important part of the event in the process as it is the time where participants will make new friends all over Europe. Our evening programmes, such as Eurovillage, where participants bring foods from diverse cultures, and Euroconcert, where participants perform, also encourage this intercultural exchange.

The safety and wellbeing of our participants is of utmost importance to us. At every event, safepersons (vertrouwenspersonen in Dutch) are present, as well as emergency officers (BHV-ers in Dutch). We also have a national safeperson for matters that transcend the events. Find more information on our safepersons here. In our Welfare Policy, we further set apart our efforts to guarantee your teenager’s wellbeing, you can find it here. Our Data Policy can be found here, ensuring we keep your data safe. Participants sign a Code of Conduct, which can be found here. This includes our alcohol and drugs policy.
